The last review summarized it pretty clearly. There are plenty of add-on costs depending upon what you want to pay for. On a Sunday while we were here, several (small motorcycles) were being noisily ridden through the campground for over an hour. Looked like they were friends of management as they were giving rides to a number of young people. We had a lot of rain while we were here but our site and the adjoining ones all drained well.
Enjoyed the convenience of being near Red Wing and the Mississippi. Located adjoining the casino. Campground was well maintained. Staff was cordial. We will return.
Our first visit to a Texas State Park facility. They are installing new washroom and bath facilities in each camping area. Every site has a concrete shelter with table. For a $5.00 fee you can upgrade to a waterfront site located adjacent to the dunes - excellent view of the beach and gulf. We were pleasantly surprised when after 24 hours of rain our site was drained and the surrounding grass was only damp.
The earlier reviews are accurate. We stayed on a pull-thru site. They are very narrow and water, sewer and electric for the adjoining site are very close outside your door. I would recommend the back-in sites if you want some elbow room. Excellent views.
Conveniently located just across the river from Memphis. We wanted a location that we could easily drive to area attractions and this fit the bill nicely. Free WiFi worked well and was simple to access. It is not as elaborate a facility as their location in Branson. We camped here for two nights. We would stop here again.
One of the better KOA's. Spacious sites. Nothing fancy, but clean and orderly. Nice bonus is their restaurant open for supper and breakfast. Excellent home cooking at a reasonable price and you get to interact with fellow campers.
This campground was convenient for us on our way through Texas. Quite a few potholes in the roadways. That may be just because of the winter season. After you go past the office the road runs over a dirt dam. It's narrow, but level. It's 2 miles off of the interstate and is quite. Reception staff was friendly and offered options for dining out that were right on. Adequate space at each site.
Basic campground. All gravel, no grass. When we checked in at 3PM and requested propane, attendant told us there was no one that could pump the gas. Suggested we drive about 1 mile to UHaul Center and purchase there. Since we were low on propane and nights are cold, we made the trip. When we got to UHaul, and were routed to rear for fill-up, found that we could not get rig with toad close enough to fill AND there was no way to exit without unhooking tow and backing out. Campground is conveniently located by I-10 and there are several excellent restaurants very close. We dined at Lorenzo's about two blocks away.
Good facility, well maintained. Away from the crunch of tourists in Branson but convenient to mojor roads. We camped here for 5 nights. Staff was helpful in arranging tickets for several events in Branson. Mature trees, well maintained roads. Our satellite receiver worked well. We plan to return in 2007.
